Stephen Hamilton - BPAT 2025
Stephen Hamilton’s triennial project, Under the Spider’s Web, is a mixed-media installation that combines painting, woodcarving, weaving, and dyeing. Inspired by West and West Central African textile traditions, the work blends multiple weaving and decorative techniques to explore patterns, cultural history, Black style, and contemporary Black fashion while highlighting the visual language of African textile-making.
